Workshop POP!

Are you ready to WRK?

Get ready to get hands on at POP!

We’re so excited (and very proud) to announce our next Venture - Workshop POP.

Located above Shop POP on Lonsdale Street in Braddon, we have created an inviting and welcoming community and studio space - and we want you to be a part of it!

Workshop POP is an inclusive space, where locals can connect over creativity, knowledge and social engagement. Workshop POP will be a place where we host regular unique, fun and spontaneous workshops and events - led by artists, makers, professionals and workshop facilitators. Think hands-on crafty courses, food and beverage tastings and skill sharing events to support you in life and business! We’re here to help you discover a new hobby, upskill, meet interesting people and contribute to a better Canberra.

We want to provide more social and economic opportunities for our small business community, so we have created a space and an avenue for makers to deepen their creative practice; hosting workshops and events will create a safe space to share knowledge and  interact with audiences and the wider community directly.

For our customers, not only can they shop their favourite products in store, they can now take a class with the maker!

We are proud of the ecosystem we are developing and champion all things that support our local community. We’re shaking things up and offering more creative opportunities for Canberra.

The first events we are hosting at Workshop POP are being led by our wonderful makers we stock in Shop POP.

We have local artist and illustrator Mick Ashley leading a finger painting class and Leah Bartsch of Dressed for Sunday sharing her jewellery making and cross stitch skills. Emma Shaw of Collector Wines / Pique-nique will be teaming up with her sommelier friend Freddie Raimbaud of The Canberra Distillery / Le petit bouchon to host a monthly Wine Club and we have many more exciting workshops going live very soon. Some of these include embroidery, ceramics, language classes, candle making and tea and chocolate tasting events.

Watch this space!

Our POP team are a crafty bunch, so we will also be presenting our own in-house series of workshops and free events, including craft-ins, small business essentials and social networking events.

At POP we are open to and encouraging of collaborations!

Please get in touch if you have a skill and want to teach with us, or if you think our venue would be perfect for your event, art activation or pop up concept. We have strong relationships with our maker and small business community, so let us know if we can add value to your business / event.

We are available to run bespoke events, team building activities, host hens and bucks events, along with unique Christmas / birthday party experiences.

Workshop POP is managed by Kylie Walsh, a workshop enthusiast and maker. Originally from Sydney, Kylie has over a decade of experience in events and retail and has been working for the last seven years as an arts manager within the maker community scene (Work-Shop Makery, Bobbin and Ink, Australian Design Centre and Craft ACT). She is passionate about working with makers and delivering a unique workshop series for POP. Please get in touch with Kylie if you are interested in collaborating:

Our workshop and event booking numbers are small to ensure covid safety compliance. We also take cleanliness seriously, our studio tables, door handles and other used surfaces are sanitised regularly. We offer hand sanitation at our door and our studio space has running water with soap for thorough hand washing for participants, staff and facilitators.

Bookings and workshop/event details can be made from the links on our website or directly through ClassBento
